Hi. This is a return after a month or so of not blogging, and I must say that it's been good. Didn't feel any blogging withdrawal symptoms. Stopped at around the teacher's day period so I guess I'll just start from there.
Instead of ACES, sec 4s had some sports carnival thingie, and yours truly played for floorball, or rather, hindered floorball. Nevertheless, we won third. Yay! The party was also quite good as well, watching scarymoviethree trailers with happytreefriends rubbish and lots and lots of pizza. We were probably the class with the most amount of food, arh. And mrsy.au was damn funny, music was in the background and she saw the windows media player dancing designs on the projector screen, and asked "what movie is this?" That was priceless, too bad not many people caught it.

After that came the practicals week. Physics practical was a fiasco. I remember everyone looking at the retort stand set-up through the open doors before going in and celebrating with "yay no jockey no jockey". Just a little peep over the counter indicated that that wasn't the case. Obviously everyone was just too excited.
Chemistry practical was funnier. Ji.nwei's dunnowhat apparatus was spoilt and he was damn flustered, ordering mrjoh.ari around for more of P and Q and whatever other reagents. Thank goodness I was one of the few who didn't use bench reagent for the prac, even though I was startled by the wide spread of chemical apparatus, that I just didn't bother testing for carbon dioxide gas, which proved to be a mistake. Oh, and I did VA 5 times, which was damn stupid. They
had to give us the hardest type of titration.
Biology practical was the worst, and by far the one with the funniest anecdotes. Jos.hua had test tubes without Benedict's reagent inside and he just dunked it into the boiling waterbath. Mrslo.wmeic.hoo came around and asked him what the colour was when he put them in.
"uh, colourless". Then she asked him what the colour was supposed to be.
"uh, colourless" At least he corrected his mistake later. He wasn't the only one to forget to do that. Apparently many people made that mistake too, including me. Tsk!
I used 1ml of the enzyme solution just to dilute with 99ml of water, which in retrospect was a wrong answer, damnit! That was damn dumb. I remember an earlier Bio test where we had to create solutions for onion rings, or was it potato slabs for some osmosis thing, and I couldn't do it. That sucks! It's probably my weakest bio 'skill'.
One of things I must be happy about is the personal space you get during practical exams. You have the whole bloody table to yourself, and there's a lot of space to do anything. I utilized all the chairs for VA.
After Bio, Jos.hua, benu.el, matth.ew, ahf.oot, haro.ld, de.rek, jon.ng, weij.ie, sha.ne and I went to this peranakan place in thompson which matth.ew introduced to us. The food was not bad, albeit having small portions. We probably ordered like ten dishes or so, and it was damn worth it. Felt damn full after the whole thing, and we only paid 5 bucks each. It was great to have a class gathering of around a third of the class, even though it came too late as some people said, I guess having it now is better than having it never.
There isn't much to talk about the languages so I'll just skip that.

The holidays were very stupid. I couldn't finish the syllabus on time even though I thought 9 days was enough for me to barely cover it. Evidently it wasn't. I have to start earlier for Os. On Thursday I met mrsta.nmuih.ong for six hours to clear all my doubts. I'm very thankful for that, it was very helpful. It could have been shorter, but moni.sh and dav.id were there, so it took longer.
Then, as sha.wnle.e puts it, went with him, be.rnard and the w-gang (lol) to this abysmal excuse for a se.oul ga.rden branch (which isn't a very good place to eat cos you can't sue them for bad food, and the only advantage is if you want a place where you can sit down for a long chitchat session).
Then went to esplana.de library but we couldn't study there cos the cleaners threw us out. There was an African dance book there, =). It was already quite late by then, so we went home.
Kenn.eth and I were the only ones on the eastern train, and we were squashed to the side of the mrt with a whole swarm of
she hui de zha zi(s). One of them looked to be the leader, or at least a gang member who was higher up in the heirachy of the oligarchy (there was no need for that word, just wanted to show off my vocab. Ugh, never mind) looked like a damn butch to me with a notlong-yet-notshort type of hairstyle. But he turned out to be this little punk kid whose voice hadn't even broken yet, pathetic!! And he had this mini plastic orange cone poked through his left ear as a piercing, and it was just plain scary. Please lor, at least if you want to do something so gross, choose a better looking piercing, and not a crude one like that. Kenn.eth called it an elephant tusk, lol. Orange tusk's got issues man, taking androgyny to greater heights, or rather, depths. Yucks!
The gang of punky little kids who were all shorter than me yet acting like bigshots and hotshots and needed shots were staring at me and my badge, and they were booing cos they thought I was from stp.ats. Yay, some people just like displaying their stupidity, or rather, utter lack of consciousness and awareness. They even made such childish noises like "poh-poh" of a carhorn like onomatopoeia whilst eaving cos people were blocking the entrance. Sounds so childish, yet they wish to be precocious. I wouldn't call it precocious though but more of pre-fckeduplifestyle.

Prelims itself, the main papers were very scary, especially the sciences, as are reflected in my science results. I was surprised though that I didn't make it for Bio. Thought I'd get A1 for that, but the practical killed me, I almost failed it.
I did achieve one of my 2 targets though. I only got As and Bs. I know that isn't a very noble goal, but considering that I only started seriously studying in Week10Term3 I must say that's an achievement. One thing I've learnt out of this whole Prelims experience is that there are many people who are liars. Especially one. Yeah you,
f*** you with your own pesary medicine up your ugly little ass.
Many people say they didn't study, but that's all hogwash. They mug in secret, and I find that despicable. Deliberately misinforming everyone so that no one will think they are a threat, but then end up getting 6 or 7 points. Ok, maybe some really didn't study much, they'd have to be geniuses, the rest are just hypocrites.
I do practice what I preach. If I say I studied, it means I studied. If I didn't study hard enough, I'd tell the truth and I'd say it. I'd tell the whole world if they asked me. Come clean. But I suppose that's impossible. RI is a miniature model of the real world where we are all so caught up in the rat race of being the best. Of course I'd be your friend, but I'd stab you in the back if I have to and can move up higher. That's the world we live in now.

I watched 3 moveis after the prelims. One of them is Pirates of the Carribean which I really recommend to anyone who hasn't watched it. The whole piracy genre is something rather novel, and it had everything in it, action, adventure, romance, humour, and there was that whole Secret Sharer thingie going on about how those who do bad still must be held guilty in front of court and hanged despite the situational circumstances. Lots of 'Captain Archbold's in the show, but of course our nameless hero won in the end.
I watched it after my last paper, which was Lit. Oh my, was so tired but I guess it was worth it in the end. Sorry to Matth.ew for not watching TLTR with you, but I believe I made the right choice. Johnny Depp was worth the whole six-fifty. I know some people don't like the show, but I thought it was a rather good cinematic outing on the whole.
That was Monday. The next day after Chemprac, went to watch The Italian Job with some of my classmates. Not spectacular, but not terrible either. Too bad the most exciting part was rather hard for me to swallow. Underground crap. And I'm amazed they managed to cordon off the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the show.
The third one was on Saturday with zhenc.hang and benj.aminn.g, 28 Days Later. My first NC-16 movie!!! Haha, that was so slow. Got a free treat from zc for no apparent reason. Since he offered to pay for my ticket I took him up on his offer. I agree with the reviews that the movie's success is based on its contemporary application of the fear of a virulent epidemic, and the effective usage of suspense most of the time. Although the first part was a tad disappointing with the buildup and crescendos in throbbing rock music but no zombies popped out at the climax. It was kind of like reaching an orgasm but having impotence. Ok, nevermind.
I believe there was more to it than just mindless violence as most people were quick to dismiss it by. Therein the show was the question of hope, and where do we get it from. Do we get it from ourselves, or do we get it from others who promise it but are actually deceiving us just to propagate themselves. There was a huge ethical dilemma within the show. It was good that there were no famous A-listers in the show, it didn't turn it into a celebrity outing. There were no clearcut goodguys in the show, although you could make a case for Jim and Selena. And that's what life is all about.
I seem to be thinking too much about movies. In the past I just watched it and forgot about it. I think too much now.
Another event that happened was JC talks. The top 5 JCs came to talk to us. Basically, there were 5 different messages.
RJC: We are family, so you better not think of running away with that Rafflesian prestige, you prodigal son.
HCJC: Keep your choices open and don't shortchange yourself. By the way, RJ sucks.
VJC: You can be a big fish in a small pond beside the sandy beach with the sun, sand and surf with salacious babes where everyone is one big happy family. And anyone can be your friend. The OVA connection with the ORA connection will be beneficial for you.
NJC: We have no message but we're here because we're obliged to as one of the top 5 JCs.
TJC: If you're a nobody who wishes to make it big but never got a chance in RI, join us. We assure you that you'll become a big somebody, 100% guaranteed.
I was originally willing to be open-minded and such for the JC talks. To give each and every JC a fair chance, despite my bias against HC. Hated it since last year. Well, NJ put me off, and HC was so general and was basically just slamming RJ the whole talk, so no go. It was very unprofessional in my opinion. That left RJ, VJ and TJ. I was prepared to go to the second or third one cos I expected a screwup for prelims. Well, on the verge of screwing up, but I believe I can make it into RJ with my borderline L1R5. We'll just have to wait until after moderation to know if things are even better.
It's RJ I guess. I rather meet Rafflesians for 2 more years than meet my primary school mates for another 2 years, which are likely to be at saturation value in VJ due to its location in the East.

I played a lot of Minesweeper during the prelim period, and it was rather helpful for my logic. HAHAHA! It sounds lame but I think it was good.
Also, I chanced upon this Japanese do-ra-ma on Channel 8 at 12.15 but it's now at 11.45. Very sweet, very nice, and humorous too. I'm a sucker for romantic comedies with a little bit of irony in them. Shotgun marriage, or dekichatta kekkon is damn good! And I looooooove Ry.oko Hi.ros.ue, she has this air of sweetness about her.
Mado.nna and bri.tney FRENCH KISSED at the VMAs 2003, but Chri.stina's presence spoilt it all. =P So happy that mad and brit are gonna collaborate for brit's new single coming out soon. As a fan of both of them, it's one of the best things to happen in the superficial MTV-watchin' facet of my life.
