happy (lonely) birthday to me.
another year, another rise and fall, another surge of false hope, but in the end the same lethargy and procrastination. nothing ever changes. except that i'm biologically older. it doesn't show outside, but yes. i am ageing inside. scary.
i could become cynical about it given how the attitude seems to have taken teenagers universally by storm, but there's no point in it. especially when there's proof that life isn't so bad, and the celebration of life isn't either. it's a wonderful thing, every year.
you're a year older, smarter, wiser. hopefully. yes, i almost got a birthday shock. i'm seriously wiser now, steering clear for some time at least. i don't want to become a pillar of salt.
thank you to my class for the LT surprise. who cares if its a tradition in some other school, i haven't seen it here yet.
thank you to all who have said that they'd get me something (if you did, you better stick to your words, if you weren't serious you shouldn't have said it at all). although it means now that i have to get something for others from now on. not like it's really a bad thing. it's nice to give and not just receive too. it just puts a whole new spin on selfish little me who's never really given much of a present to anyone before. except some marker-hiliter. =P
thank you to all who sent me birthday wishes.
(guess what? these three groups intersect alot!)
and thank you to bernard for saving me from the abyss, the bottomless pit of a root sin that leads on to others, and no, it isn't money. the one that leads to lies and greed and lust and you get the picture. i suppose fugliness is a sin as well. :)
in any case, i went to this funky hotel place that serves japanese food, all types. everything ranging from sushi to sashimi to california rolls to teppanyaki to chawanmushi to miso soup to tempura to yadayada and kyoko fukada. (ok strike the last 2 off) yeah ! it was damn nice, nice birthday lunch thingie.. then i bought antony and cleopatra and sloman's econs thingamajig ! (god i sound like a mugger) i just feel nice buying new stuff lar. the whole new feel. and now that i'm doing subjects that i like (or rather, dislike less), it will be so much more fun to use textbooks and texts and stuff! (Actually i only think history is shit)
i just realised that the past few years, especially these last 2, my birthday has been very downplayed by family, but rather highlighted by non-family. strange. highlighted especially much this year. perhaps its a girl thing. in fact, apart from m.atin, all my birthday wishes were from girls. lalala. yay for me. and these 2 years i've given myself great presents !!!!!!!! so niceeeee !!! that's the good thing of having it in march. lalalalala... i'm mad.
the counter has restarted, but that doesn't mean my life has. or maybe.. just maybe. we'll see.
