first and foremost, thanks a million to
claudia for the wonderful new template!! although i did screw around abit with it. yup.
oh my, i had these funny things applied to my teeth last saturday. what with the weird molds getting stuffed in and taking a shape of my teeth and me biting the strip of wax and having this dogcollar-like thing shoved in my mouth and the dentist taking photos of me all over with even side profile pics to boot. felt like i was taking mugshots. and separators! funky light blue rubberband-like stuff that are stuck between my teeth. ack. getting braces is beginning to be a chore. and it's only the beginning. heh, my teeth are gonna get extracted next week, darn. -cue aww- ah well. all for the sake of a better smile and image! (secretly hoping that
extreme makeover will chance upon this or something)
i think i've got to scrap my BCDE plans. my progress is just too slow. my engines got started up too late. thank god this isn't the As or something. man, i knew we were all gonna screw it. i mean, common knowledge yeah. and bringing in the crazyrafflesstandard mentality, makes it much easier to bear too. like, don't treat it flippantly but you don't have to take the results to heart. i just don't want to do THAT badly. anyway, new goal: 50th percentile or better for each subject. that's it. isn't that hard too. haha, i hope. ah well, and it makes you feel good, considering like half the j2 batch got 4As last year.
thesimplelife is absolutely the funniest thing on tv these days! catch it. paris hilton's antics and stupidity are worth the half an hour sacrificed. and theapprentice rocks too. great concept, although donald trump sounds like abit of an arrogant jerk. i'm a reality junkie. ooh can't wait for amazing race and survivor to make it back to the tube soon. -grin-
the.... loss. made me think about stuff. i wonder what would happen if i just left like that. what would my friends say. what would people say about me. like, epitaphs and eulogies. what would my... sending-off ceremony be like? would it be sombre? or sad yet comforted in the knowledge that i've gone from this shithole, on to something better hopefully? and what do you do when someone, in the cliched terms of adults telling kids in stories or shows, goes off to a far-away land forever and ever and probably isn't coming back? do you delete their handphone number, or their msn contact for example? what if that person suddenly pops up online? (man that'd be freaking scary) do you remove them from the school database? it's simple things like these, but connote so much. heh, missy did say something rather touching. oh well. makes me feel a bit guilty though. that's what close friends are for, i suppose.
and i've realised that you can't be everyone's friend. it requires hypocrisy. to remove that element of sometimes unconscious and unwitting duplicity, you've got to be their acquaintance. and when you're a friend, when you're close to someone, that's when they're confident enough to trust you and pour out their feelings and just bitch. and obviously you've gotta take sides. that whole idiotic Bush notion of "if you aren't with us, you're against us". whatever happened to neutrality man? so, nope. can't be everyone's friend, but you can be everyone's acquaintance. comforting thought, eh?
oh, out of boredom i watched -thevideo- again, and i think she's perfectly right for censuring mr copycat. those articles are kinda erps. oh well. but she's such a showoff too. "literary language" indeed. hah. how many... literary devices did she employ in "sly crafty old rat" and "your insolence, your defiance, your laziness, your apathy, your lethargy and your bad attitude"? well, there's metaphor, alliteration, assonance, repetition! omg, she's really put her "training as a literature student" to good use. and the idiot who taped it wasn't subtle enough, if you listen carefully you can hear him saying "yes" in the background. whaddahell.
OK, back to the kinky kinked demand curves (they're damn cute) and truman doctrine!
