merry christmas to all, may you experience peace and love during this period with your loved ones.

i'm ridiculously slow when it comes to catching onto fads or things that are nice and/or in good taste. that would be wc3, and Oasis respectively. what a stroke of genius, even if they are just a poseur band trying to be nu-beatles. sampling john lennon's imagine, as the opening notes to the song. they may be pirates and plagiarisers, but they sure make a mean scrapbook.

it's times like these i feel really blessed and thankful for being singaporean. people who complain too much should really think. this time it isn't a comparison of 2 vastly differing worlds like a starving bloated kid in ethiopia versus donald trump. it's all the same, it's SEA.

we're practically the only country in our part of SEA that's untouched by the tidal waves cum 8.9 richter scale earthquake. bitch about our country being a nanny state, or being too totalitarian, or too boring and/or insulated. but at least we're safe. there's the downside, but i'm pretty content with my local life so far. try going overseas, and see if you won't have racism thrown at you by a redneck or something.

well, the ever skeptical me though is still wary despite being touched. i don't believe for a moment that we even experienced anything. however, the news hypes us up as having had "tremors". yeah, that's lying without really lying, cos that's really subjective. benchen could probably shake his legs in the TS and we'd think the world was about to collapse. it's all just a media trick, most probably to assuage our neighbours and to prevent jealousy on their part.

billybombers is really nice. everyone should go there once. i like living the high life. i am high maintainence. i could live it rough, but i'd rather live like a king. i like BB's plush vinyl american diner seats, the whole retro feel of the 60s-80s. i like their big burgers and their big hotdogs. i like their interior decor with the jukeboxes and even their waiter and waitress uniforms are so dated chic. i need a highpaying job.

i just came back from a BBQ at uncle steven's and auntie jessie's. was pretty interesting talking to her sister's children, who're a set of triplets, 2 girls and a guy who all look pretty good. and they're 18! that makes them my cousins' cousins. hmm. guess we're -somehow- related then. they were in seychelles for only a year after being born before migrating to melbourne (gotta love that place, so many people i vaguely know there, and it's really nice and quiet). they were pretty surprised by the way singapore works. guess it's always a shocker eh, our dirtcheap schoolfees, our exhorbitantly high car and housing cost of expenses, our ridiculously demanding standards in academia and our otah. =) i'm proud to be singaporean, and i'm not afraid to admit it like some other people are. though i'd still like to fly away some day, it won't be now or anytime soon.

and i think i should get inebriated on alcohol more often.

christmas has come and gone, and it's rather sad that i begin to feel less and less each year. there was hardly any magic in it this time. and a new year starts, and things just happen and go, and the routine follows on and on. i really need a change. i really need something major. like a white christmas or something. whatever.

don't look back in anger, at least not today.
